tutorial: button maker tool, how it looks like and how it works

I was hoping to get this tools since i was kid, my aunt used to send me to some lady specially to do some of these buttons.

and since i learned sewing, i couldn't get enoughh from buying sewing tools and supplies, but this is the only one i didnt get it till it comes as a gift.

And i celebrated this moment with my favourite forum "UAE women club" by presenting giveaways and the question was hint to know what is the gift.

after i post the giveaway question a lot asked me how this tool works, and that is my answer, enjoy the photos

it comes with lots of pieces

every upper piece related to the piece underneath it

this piece put it inside the spring

like this

and that's how its look like

the same to the other piece

i take the small one and put it inside the hole of the big one

i take the part with the spring and put it inside the button maker like this

the buttons comes in two pieces

the almost flat piece i cover it with fabric

and the other one comes underneath it

how?? look at the following pictures

 

remember this part, we have done it before

 

i put the piece we are making inside it

after attaching the whole pieces inside that part, i take it and put it above the spring piece

1...2...3 press

it take little effort to work with it because its an antique tool but i like a lot and its reminds me of beautiful days

your noteboard..with your cute touch

I love noteboards, since I was a kid , I wanted to get one but my mom refused since it has pins, but now I understood the reasons since I have kids too Duh! Love you mommy

lets do it:

i got the tools IKEA megnets with holding metal, 1 for 5 Dhs.

and what you need more is:

Thick cardboards

Colorful fabrics, plain satin tape

Anything you want to add for example buttons, flowers

Stuff to help (wax glue , pins)

Make sure the fabric is ironed .. and wrap it as if ur wrapping a gift.. and fix it with the pins .. and then glue it so it won't move.

Put the satin tape on the board's face

 

Then put the metal  where ever you want. by screws that comes with it.

This is how it looks before you put the metal

  

and now we contenuing putting the metal with the screws

and this how its look at the end, lets see now how much notes you stick it there :)

and this is mine, i made for my skitches that i showed in the previous post, now i will make one for my "roe" and one for "Mami".

back to school cardmaking,,,mami's card to her teachers

I like it when someone's mother appreciate her daughter's teacher since I was alittle girl in school, I notice the attentions that this student has from her teacher when her mother show her concerns and send so much activities for the teacher to help on the teaching process. For that purpose, I bought the stuff that I will do it to work on this project. Lets see the details together.

 

I printed out from the internet a school jumpers and cut it out.to use it as a patterns

 

I used it on pink paper that look like my daought’s school jumper

I draw a shirt and colored it.
